Julio Russo is a magical realism and neo-pop artist from Barranquilla in Colombia, home of famous writer Gabriel García Márquez - renowned for his magical realism. Julio has two styles of work: his “magical realism” painting conveys, in an abstract way, his personal experiences; flowing into his artistic concepts unconsciously in forms of cacophonous exuberance, with images that come from a certain chaos but with nostalgia for order. The artist’s other bolder, vivid ‘neo-pop’ style is full of playfulness and energy.
